Ace the Test
Turn any PDF or photo of your notes into a practice test.
Ace the Test turns your own study material into a practice exam. Upload a PDF, a photo of your handwritten notes, or plain text, and Google Gemini writes 5–50 multiple-choice and true/false questions — each with an explanation — in about 30 seconds. Answer them, get instant feedback, and watch your accuracy and weak topics build up across sessions. Eight interface languages, and questions come back in the language you uploaded. Free plan, no credit card. Premium is $14.99/month.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
Ace the Test started from something I kept doing wrong: rereading notes feels
like studying, but it isn't. What actually works is answering questions. The
problem is that writing good questions from your own material takes longer than
just rereading it one more time — so nobody does it.
So the app does that part. Upload a PDF, a photo of your handwritten notes, or
plain text, and Gemini writes multiple-choice and true/false questions from that
material only, each with an explanation, in about 30 seconds.
Two things changed a lot along the way:
1. Distractors turned out to be the whole product. Early versions produced
questions you could answer without having read anything, because the wrong
options were obviously wrong. There is now an explicit rule in the generation
prompt: roughly 30% of items are built around near-synonyms, conditionals,
partial truths and negation — the traps real exams use. The rest stay
straightforward recall, because a test made only of traps measures reading care
rather than knowledge.
2. Generation is not the valuable part. One-off question generation is a
commodity in 2026. The thing worth paying for is the accuracy and weak-topic
history that builds up over weeks, so I moved the paid tier onto that axis
instead of charging per generation, and made the free plan permanent — tracking
means nothing until you have some history.
Eight interface languages, and questions come back in whatever language you
uploaded.
Honest gap: there is no try-it-without-an-account demo yet. The backend endpoint
for it isn't shipped, so today you need a free account (no card) to generate
anything. It's the next thing I'm building.
The feedback I want most: upload one page of your own material and tell me
whether you could have answered the questions without reading it. That's the
failure mode I care about.
