When we first started building Accessibility Checker, our goal was pretty simple: make accessibility testing so easy that there’s no excuse not to test.
No sign-up. No login. Just install the extension, open a webpage, and start testing in seconds.
As we worked on it, we kept hearing the same underlying problem: people know accessibility matters, but actually knowing what to look for can be intimidating.
So we kept building.
Today, you can:
Scan any page and see severity-ranked WCAG issues explained in plain language
Explore 12 disability simulation modes for colour blindness, low vision, and dyslexia
Inspect things like colour contrast, focus order, and landmarks
Generate a PDF report you can share with a client or developer
We’ve grown to 1,500+ organic installs, and we’re bringing it to Product Hunt to see what this community thinks. We’re already working on what comes next, including ARIA validation, link text checks, and screen reader simulation.
Accessibility Checker can catch a lot automatically, but it isn’t a replacement for manual testing. We believe both belong in the process.

We built this extension to make accessibility testing a little easier, and it’s a tool we actively use ourselves at WebYes.

One thing we really cared about while building this was making it easy to understand, even if accessibility isn’t your area. You still get the technical details, but you don’t have to fight through a wall of jargon to figure out what’s going on. We’ve put a lot of time into building and testing this, and we’re finally putting it out there. I’m not a developer or an accessibility expert. When I first started working on this product, I was learning about accessibility myself. And the more I learned, the more I realised how easy it is to know accessibility matters, while still not knowing where to start.
You can read the guidelines, learn about WCAG, or use a full testing platform. But sometimes you’re simply looking at a webpage and wondering:
“Is there something wrong with this page?”
That’s why we built Accessibility Checker.
We wanted to make that first check simple. Open a page in Chrome, run the extension, and see what needs your attention right where it happens.
That became a big part of how we thought about Accessibility Checker.
The interface is intentionally simple and intuitive, so even if you’re new to accessibility testing, you can look at the results and understand what needs your attention without feeling overwhelmed.
We started with a small free extension. Since then, we’ve added:
WCAG checks with issues highlighted on the page
Colour contrast, focus order, alt text, and landmark inspection
Disability simulators
Reports you can share with your team
We’re bringing it to Product Hunt to see how it works in the hands of people who actually build, design, test, and manage websites.
