Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm excited to introduce Universe — a real-time, photorealistic 3D solar system that runs entirely in your browser. No install, no signup, no paywall. Open it on any laptop or phone and the planets are already turning. Mercury is exactly where Mercury is. Mars is exactly where Mars is. The Moon is in the phase it's actually in right now. The International Space Station is the pixel moving across Earth at 7.66 km/s — not a guess, not a cached image: a real SGP4 propagation from the freshest TLE NASA published an hour ago. We built Universe on one idea: the cosmos shouldn't require a graduate degree, a telescope, or an app store. So we put it on the web — accurate, beautiful, and free. Here is what Universe brings to the table: 🌍 Real-time solar system — accurate orbits of all 8 planets + Pluto, all major moons of Jupiter / Saturn / Uranus / Neptune, the asteroid and Kuiper belts, Halley's and Encke's comets. 🛰️ Live satellite tracking — ISS, Hubble, Tiangong, and the entire Starlink constellation (6,000+ satellites) propagated client-side via SGP4 from Celestrak TLE, rendered as a single instanced mesh at 60 fps. 🕰️ Time machine — scrub from 1900 to 2100 in one slider; pause, rewind, fast-forward at any speed. Every body responds instantly. 🪐 Exoplanet Atlas — twelve famous star systems (TRAPPIST-1, Proxima Centauri, Kepler-186, 51 Pegasi, K2-18, TOI-700, and more), each rendered as a mini-scene with star, orbits, and habitable zone. 🔭 Cosmic Zoom — a Powers-of-Ten ride from a few AU out to 46 billion light-years across five layered visualizations: solar system → stellar neighborhood → Milky Way disk → Local Group → cosmic web. 🌃 Tonight's Sky — geolocated panel with ISS / Tiangong / Hubble pass predictions, current moon phase, best dark-sky observing window, upcoming meteor showers and eclipses. 🚀 Mission Feeds — live SpaceX countdowns and launch outcomes, NASA CNEOS near-Earth asteroids, NOAA solar weather (Kp index, X-class flares), Voyager 1/2 distance and light-time, Parker Solar Probe perihelion, JWST observation cycle, and Mars rover raw images. 🎂 Birthday Sky — type in your birthday and see the actual solar system on the day you were born, with sun sign, moon phase, days alive, and (for Chinese users) the nearest 节气. Generate a 1080×1920 shareable poster in one click. 🎬 Cinematic, Story, and Classroom modes — built-in screen recorder, guided narrative tours, a classroom HUD with curated lessons, full keyboard navigation, and a screen-reader-friendly accessibility layer. 🥽 WebXR-native — put on a Quest or Vision Pro and you're standing in the orbit. 🤖 AI tour guide — ask "why does the Moon always show the same face?" and the camera flies, narrates, and explains. 🌐 5 languages — English, 中文, Español, Português, العربية.
