I spend almost 16 hours a day on computers, and a recent eye test showed a −0.5 change in both eyes. That was my reminder to start taking screen breaks seriously.
I came across the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Simple enough to remember, surprisingly easy to forget when you’re deep in work.
So I built a cute desktop app to remind me. What started as something for myself felt worth sharing with anyone else whose “just five more minutes” turns into three hours.
