Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Emir, a solo developer from Ankara, and 1 Bit Pixel is my love letter to the machines I grew up romanticizing. It started as a strict 1-bit (black & white only) sprite editor — hence the name. Early testers loved the phosphor terminal aesthetic but wanted real color, so I rebuilt the core around full RGBA while keeping the CRT soul: the app literally boots like a vintage terminal, scanlines and all. Even the mascot gets drawn line-by-line on startup. Under the retro shell it's a serious tool: • Layers with opacity, locking & reference layers • Frame-by-frame animation — onion skin, tweening, frame muting • Tilesets with autotiling • Aseprite (.aseprite) import & export — your existing work just opens • Palette tools: Lospec import, retro presets (Game Boy, PICO-8, NES, CGA), OKLab color ramps • Symmetry up to 24-fold radial (mandala mode is dangerously fun) • Full Apple Pencil support: pressure, palm rejection, squeeze, hover preview • Vim-style command mode, because of course there is one • Localized in 10 languages Business model is deliberately boring: $9.99 once. No subscription, no ads, no telemetry, no account. I'd genuinely love your feedback — especially from anyone doing pixel art on iPad today. What's missing? What's annoying in your current tool? I read everything. 🙂
