Zone
An uncompromising focus timer that physically blocks apps.
Zone is an uncompromising focus timer and app blocker designed for professionals who need absolute discipline for deep work. Unlike standard timers, Zone utilises Apple’s native Screen Time API to physically shield distracting applications, featuring a signature "Strict Mode" that intentionally disables the ability to cancel an active session once it begins. Built with a strict "Zero-Knowledge" architecture, the app operates entirely on-device with zero third-party tracking or analytics SDKs.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Vikas, an iOS developer, and today I’m launching Zone.
I built Zone because I was frustrated with two things in the productivity space:
Standard focus timers rely entirely on willpower. When the urge to check social media hits, it is far too easy to just hit "cancel" on a timer.
So many productivity apps harvest your behavioural data and hide behind GDPR consent banners.
Zone solves both. It is an uncompromising focus timer that utilises Apple’s native Screen Time API (FamilyControls) to physically shield distracting applications from the OS level.
The core feature is Strict Mode. When enabled, the "End Session" button is completely disabled. You literally cannot open your blocked apps until the timer naturally hits zero. It acts as an ironclad commitment device.
Built for iOS:
Beautiful Dynamic Island and Lock Screen Live Activities (ActivityKit).
Syncs completed sessions to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes (write-only).
Zero-Knowledge Architecture: There is zero network traffic. No Firebase, no Crashlytics, and no third-party tracking SDKs. It has a pristine "Data Not Collected" App Store label. What happens on your phone stays on your phone.
Version 1.0 is completely free with no ads and no subscriptions.
I would absolutely love to hear your feedback, especially from fellow developers who struggle with context-switching and deep work. I'll be here all day answering questions!

Who hunted Zone?
Zone was hunted by Vikas Saini. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
