Who hunted zinbox?
zinbox was hunted by Levi Nunnink. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. Hey Product Hunt!
I'm Levi, long time macOS developer. I built zinbox (pronounced "Zen-Box") because the app I relied on disappeared. ☹️
Like lots of people I have multiple Gmail accounts that I use every day. For years I used Shift for one thing: keeping all these accounts signed in side by side, with one badge and real notifications. This fall Shift retired that app and became a full browser. I didn't want a new browser, I wanted my simple inboxes. So I built the app I missed. And I built it as a native macOS app (not Electron) so it doesn't have a huge footprint.
What zinbox does:
• Every Gmail and Workspace account signed in at once, each in its own private session
• ⌘1–9 to switch instantly, since every inbox stays loaded
• Per-account unread counts and one total on the dock
• Native macOS notifications within seconds, even for accounts you're not looking at
• Real Gmail, unmodified, so all your labels, filters and shortcuts just work
What it doesn't do, so nobody's surprised: no Chrome extensions, Gmail only, Mac only (macOS 14+), and passkey sign-in isn't supported yet ("Try another way" works fine).
For Product Hunt users: It's $18/year with a 14-day trial. For launch week, the first 100 people can get a lifetime license for $42.
I'd love to hear what you'd want next.
