ZenTask started with a problem I was having myself. I had a lot of things I wanted to get done, but I didn't have a simple way to organize them, keep track of what I had accomplished, and know what still needed my attention. I started building ZenTask to solve that. One thing I found especially useful was being able to organize my work into hierarchies of any depth. Instead of having one giant list of todos, I could break things down however made sense to me, goals into projects, projects into tasks, and tasks into smaller tasks when necessary. But then I ran into another problem: organizing the work was itself taking too much work. That's where AI came in. Instead of spending time figuring out how to structure everything, I can simply tell ZenTask what I want to accomplish in plain language, my raw intent, and let AI break it down into actionable tasks and organize them for me. From there, I can plan what I want to accomplish each day, track my progress, and see what I've actually completed. And if I don't finish something today, it doesn't just disappear into an old todo list, I can carry it over to another day and keep going. The idea is simple: your tasks shouldn't be another thing you have to manage. I built ZenTask because I needed it myself, and now I'm putting it out there to see if it can help other people too.
