Zendesk Exporter
Scheduled Zendesk ticket exports, straight to Google Sheets
Zendesk has no scheduled ticket export — you re-run the same view export and re-clean the same CSV every week. This keeps any Zendesk view or search synced into a Google Sheets tab hourly, daily or weekly, with the columns you pick (custom fields included). Searches use Zendesk's export endpoint, so there is no 1,000-result cap. It runs entirely inside Apps Script: your Zendesk to your sheet, with no vendor server touching the data.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I build small, single-purpose add-ons, and this one came out of a complaint I kept running into in support communities: Zendesk has no scheduled ticket export. Exporting a view is manual, throttled, and arrives as an emailed CSV link you download and re-clean every single time — and search caps out at 1,000 results. So the "weekly support report" ends up being a person, every week, doing the same twenty minutes of cleanup.
Zendesk Exporter removes that loop:
• Point it at any Zendesk view, or any search using Zendesk's own query syntax
• Pick your columns — custom ticket fields included, and assignee/requester IDs resolve to real names
• Refresh hourly, daily or weekly, with a last-refreshed stamp on the tab so nobody presents stale numbers
Two decisions I made early. Searches go through Zendesk's export endpoint rather than plain search, so there's no 1,000-result ceiling and a 40k-ticket query still finishes (it pages with a cursor and resumes across runs, because Apps Script kills anything past 6 minutes). And the whole thing runs inside Apps Script: ticket data goes from your Zendesk straight to your spreadsheet. I operate no server and never receive your data, and your API token lives in your own Google account's add-on storage rather than in the sheet.
Honest limits, up front: it exports ticket fields, not comment bodies. One Zendesk subdomain at a time. No users or organisations export yet.
Free tier is one saved query with manual refresh, so you can check it does what you need before paying for anything.
If you do support reporting: which field or endpoint would you want next? That's genuinely how I've been picking what to build.
