ZakatBooks
Your books already know your zakat.
Bookkeeping software for Muslim business owners. Halal invoicing, expense tracking, and a zakat calculator that follows your hawl as it happens.
Top comment
Some context on why this exists. I'm not a business owner — I'm a Muslim student who gives zakat. I kept noticing that no finance tool was built with us in mind. QuickBooks has an interest field in the default invoice template. Wave has never heard of nisab. The real problem was timing. Zakat runs on a lunar year, bookkeeping runs on a calendar year. So when hawl completes you're reconstructing twelve months of records to find a number the software already knew every day. My approach flipped while building. I started with an invoicing tool that had zakat as a feature and ended with the opposite — the calculation at the centre, the bookkeeping feeding it. I also ran a Shariah audit partway through and deleted features I'd already built.
