Hi Product Hunt, I'm Sriraam, and I made yune.
When I stared getting acne and got into skincare, I didn't know where to start. There were so many products and I didn't know which ones would work for me. I scrolled on social media for hours trying to find the best products for me. However, all the "best" products were sponsored and the ones that worked for others didn't work for me.
Afters years of experimenting and hundreds of dollars spent, I still find it hard to discover the right products. The skincare review community is dominated by influencers and the rest of us are left to search for the products ourselves. So I built yune for the community.
yune is Letterboxd for skincare. You keep a shelf of what you use, and once you've used something long enough to have an opinion, you rank it. First: how was it? Loved it, it was fine, or it didn't work for me. Then a question or two comparing it with what you've already ranked. Your score out of 10 comes from where it lands, so your favourite is a 10 and nothing gets a lazy four stars.
Everyone's rankings pool into a community ranking for every category and every skin type: the best sunscreens for oily skin, moisturizers for dry skin, and so on, from what people actually used. It's early, so some of those rest on a handful of people. Rank your shelf and yours count.
You can also compare your shelf with a friend's (what you both use, where you disagree, what they swear by that you haven't tried) and share your AM and PM routine with a link.
It's free, with no ads and no affiliate links. It runs in any browser, and you sign in with Google.
Skincare is not something just for influencers and celebrities, we want to remove the original hurdle of getting into skincare so it's easier for people to take care of their skin and start glowing!
