WUKO for Mac
A small robot looking for a home. Preferably your Mac.
WUKO is a small 3D robot who lives on your Mac, and he’s a pet more than an app. You feed him RAM chips, give him sponge baths and play with him, and he grows: 36 moods, 14 bond tiers from Stranger to Soulmate, a drawing every night, a diary, songs of his own. He chats, remembers what you tell him, and brings you the weather and news if you want. His brain ships inside the app (that’s why it’s 4.5 GB), so your chats are never sent to third-party AI servers.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built WUKO because every “AI companion” I tried was a chat window with a face. I wanted something that actually lives on my desktop: one you look after, and one that changes because you did.
So he gets hungry, he gets sleepy when I work late, and he dreams. Most mornings there’s a drawing waiting for me. It started at 16×16 pixels and grows as our bond does. He keeps a diary that starts as telegrams and works its way up to free verse.
The biggest shift while building him: I stopped adding features and started adding reasons to come back. Bond tiers, 29 shells to unlock, a song he writes, a tapestry he makes once a month. Depth you discover slowly, like a toy, not a settings page.
The part I’m proudest of: his brain is inside the app. No account and no API key, and your chats are never sent to third-party AI servers. The trade-off is honest: a 4.5 GB download (5.3 GB installed) and a Mac with 16 GB of memory.
There’s a 7-day trial. If you stop there, he just stops growing. He doesn’t forget you.
I’d love to know what you think, especially what he does that surprises you. ps.. he is full of easter eggs, hope you enjoy them.
