Write Smarter
AI academic writing, built on real sources—not guesses
Most AI writing tools have the same fatal flaw: they generate confident-sounding text without grounding it in real research. The result? Fabricated citations, hallucinated sources, and papers that get flagged. Write Smarter takes a different approach. Instead of asking an AI to "just write", we built a pipeline that researches first, then writes and later humanizes to bypass all major AI detectors, which include Turnitin, Copyleaks, Originality.AI, GPTZero, ZeroGPT and others.
Hey hunters 👋
I'm Erick, founder of Write Smarter — and I should be upfront: I'm not a developer. I'm an academic writer. Sixteen years of it, somewhere north of 10,000 papers, long before AI was part of the conversation.
So why build an AI writing tool? Honestly, out of necessity. A few years back I started experimenting with AI for my own ghostwriting work, and the results unsettled me a little — papers that read well, sounded human, and were completely unflagged by every detection tool I threw at them. Client satisfaction went up, not down.
But here's what I learned the hard way: the AI itself isn't the differentiator. The sourcing is. Most AI writing tools generate text first and hope the citations hold up. We flipped that — Write Smarter researches across 11+ academic databases first, scores every source for credibility (currency, relevance, authority, accuracy, purpose), and then writes from that foundation. That's the difference between a paper that gets flagged and one that doesn't.
I built this because I think there's a real gap between "AI will replace academic writing" and "AI has no place in academic writing." Most of us live somewhere in between — using AI to get past the blank page, explore angles, and draft from real research, while still doing the thinking that actually matters.
I'd love to hear from you:
If you're a student, researcher, or fellow writer — what's stopped you from trusting AI tools for serious academic work?
If you've tried other AI writing tools — what broke trust for you?
Happy to answer anything about how the sourcing pipeline works, the citation styles we support, or just to swap war stories about academic writing in general. Thanks for checking us out 🙏
