What inspired you to build this?
The idea came from seeing the same thing happen every World Cup. Someone in the office volunteers to run the tipping competition, and before long it turns into a messy spreadsheet, endless reminder messages, manual score updates and a lot of admin for one person.
I had been that person before, and I knew there had to be a better way.
I wanted to create something that made office tipping competitions easy to run, simple to join and fun to follow, without relying on spreadsheets or manual updates.
What problem were you trying to solve?
The main problem was removing the admin burden.
In a workplace tipping competition, the fun should come from the banter, the leaderboard and seeing how everyone is going, not from chasing people for tips or updating results by hand.
I wanted to build an automated platform where an admin could enter a match result once, and every leaderboard across every competition would update instantly. No broken spreadsheets, no missed updates, no reply-all chaos and no one stuck managing everything manually.
I also noticed that most existing tipping platforms were either too generic, too clunky or too closely linked to betting. I wanted something built specifically for workplaces, where anyone from the CEO to the receptionist could join in and enjoy the tournament.
How did your approach evolve while building this?
I started with a simple goal: make World Cup tipping easier to manage. At first, the focus was on the automated results engine, enter the score once and have the platform handle the rest.
As the product developed, I realised the real value was not just automation, but engagement. The leaderboard needed to feel alive. People want to see who is moving up, who is falling behind, who is on a hot streak and who tipped which team once the match begins.
That shifted the product from being just an admin tool into something more interactive and social for the whole workplace.
I also decided to keep the platform free for up to 10 people.
