WorkFlow Time Tracker
Automatic time tracking that never leaves your phone
WorkFlow clocks you in when you arrive at work and out when you leave - via GPS geofencing, with the app closed. The unusual part: there is no backend. No account, no cloud, no analytics, no ads, no IAPs. Everything stays on your phone in a local database. Up to 5 workplaces, overtime balance, vacation days, weekly/monthly/yearly reports, PDF/CSV export, English + German. Free on Google Play, Android only.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Solo dev from Switzerland here. WorkFlow started because I kept forgetting to clock in at work, and every time tracker I tried either forced a cloud account, hid geofencing behind a paywall, or felt like surveillance software.
So I built it with a design constraint I haven't seen elsewhere in this category: literally zero backend. No accounts, no cloud, no analytics. There are no servers, so there is structurally nothing to leak. The app clocks you in when you arrive at your workplace and out when you leave, with the app closed.
It launched quietly a few months ago and just got its biggest update (v1.5): up to 5 workplaces, overtime balance, vacation days that lower your daily target, PDF/CSV export, English and German.
Honest about the limits:
- Android geofencing is at the mercy of OEM battery killers (Samsung, Xiaomi). The app ships a diagnostics screen and manual corrections for missed events.
- Android only. iOS background execution is too unreliable for a credible auto-tracking promise.
- Closed-source today; an OSS release is under evaluation.
Free on Google Play, no ads, no IAPs, no trial trap.
Would love feedback, especially from people who tried Toggl/Clockify/Hubstaff and bounced off for privacy reasons. What would push you to switch?
