I’m an IT professional who most of the time dealing with infra issues. Although I get my job done, I always hit a massive wall that I'm sure a lot of you also deal with: my phone. It always a affect my efficiency. When I start working, I actively put my phone on silent and put it away. But still the second I have to pick it up, even just to grab a 2FA OTP code to log into AWS or GitHub, I get sucked in. I see a notification, open an app, and suddenly like 15 minutes of prime focus time is gone. Yeah I know it sounds silly, but it completely destroys my momentum. Hence, I decided to build my own weird little solution for myself instead of just trying to force "willpower." I don't want to spend time on evaluating existing apps and I just wanted a very simple solution. So I built a simple app that uses the webcam to keep me honest.
