Windchime Widget
A windchime widget that lives on your Mac desktop
A tiny windchime that lives on your Mac desktop. It floats transparently above your work, sways and rings softly on its own, never looping, because every note is synthesized live from Himalayan brass bells. Blow toward your mic and it answers your breath, or brush the bells with your cursor. On device, no accounts, no data collected. A calm little corner for your screen.
Hello!
I built Windchime because I wanted to bring a little of nature's calm into my digital life. We spend all day staring at screens, I liked the idea of a small, living thing in the corner that just is, swaying and ringing gently, asking nothing of you.
The part I'm proudest of there are no sound files. Every ring is synthesized live, inharmonic partials modeled on real brass bell overtones, so it never repeats. And the "blow to ring" feature runs an FFT on your mic entirely on device, nothing is ever recorded or sent anywhere.
Would love your feedback, especially on how to make it feel even more alive and interactive.
