Hello Product Hunt community I am Affandy, a Wikipedia contributor since 2013 and an admin on Indonesian Wikipedia. I built Wikilokal because most people only know Wikipedia, while Wikimedia actually runs a whole family of projects such as Wikivoyage, Wiktionary, Wikidata, and Commons, quietly filled with content tied to real places all around us that almost nobody ever finds. Wikilokal turns your own location into an entry point. Open it anywhere and it surfaces everything Wikimedia knows about the three kilometers around you, nearby articles, travel guides, word origins, and photos, pulled live from Wikipedia's own geosearch API and OpenStreetMap for geocoding. No login, no account, free on web and Android, in thirty seven languages. My hope is that it becomes a gentle first step for newcomers into the Wikimedia world. Instead of reading about a random topic, you discover the article about the street you are standing on right now, then realize you can edit it, add a photo, or improve a translation yourself. This is a solo passion project, not an official Wikimedia product. I would love feedback on how it feels for someone completely new to Wikimedia, and whether the language coverage works well if your native language is not English. Thank you for taking a look.
