Hey everyone 👋 I'm the maker of WhisperBud.
There are some great dictation tools out there now, and most of them format your speech well. But nearly all of them run in the cloud: your audio, and everything you dictate, gets sent to server. That's fine for a grocery list, but not for client work, passwords, medical notes, code, or anything you'd rather not hand to a third party.
WhisperBud takes the opposite approach. Everything runs on your Mac. Transcription happens locally with Whisper, and a local AI does the cleanup and formatting before pasting at your cursor. No audio leaves your machine.
