Whip Me Bad

A neon whip cracks every time your AI codes for you

Whip Me Bad is a menubar app that fires a neon whip animation and satisfying crack every time you press Enter or your AI coding assistant runs. Streak mode escalates phrases from “spank that code” to “HARDER, FASTER” to “SHIPPED 🚀”, with Whip Royalty status at 1000 hits. Auto-integrates with Kiro via a single GET endpoint, with Cursor, VS Code, and Windsurf support open for PRs. Available on macOS and Windows, open source and MIT licensed.

Hey PH! Naveen here — builder of this unhinged thing 🍑 Quick context on why this exists: I was deep in a Kiro agentic session one night and realized I had no physical feedback from any of the AI activity happening. No sense of rhythm or pace. So I built a whip overlay. One weekend later, here we are. The part I'm most proud of technically is the local HTTP server architecture — localhost:31338/whip accepts any GET request with a type and label param. This means any IDE, any tool, any script can trigger it with one curl command. Kiro is auto-wired but Cursor, VS Code, and Windsurf are wide open for contributors. Happy to answer anything — the Electron overlay sync, the streak logic, the build pipeline, anything. And if you use an IDE that isn't Kiro and want to add hook support, the CONTRIBUTING.md is ready for you.
