Hey Product Hunt!
I'm Michell — teacher, developer and trainer. I built When Do We Start? because I got tired of students asking "but when exactly are we starting?" every single break.
The idea is simple: set a timer, go fullscreen, point it at the projector. The class sees a big countdown. No more questions.
I've been refining this tool for years for my own use — now it's open source and free for everyone.
A few things I'm particularly happy with:
- The shareable URL means you set it once and send the link — participants can follow the countdown on their own devices
- The browser tab shows MM:SS, so you can keep it in the background as a personal timer while students see something else on the projector
- No account, no install, no tracking — just open the URL and go
