WebAbility Website Accessibility Checker
Website Accessibility Checker for Accessibility Compliance
WebAbility scans any URL against WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 (A and AA) and shows exactly what fails, from low contrast to missing alt text to keyboard traps, with plain guidance on how to fix each one. Free, no signup, no email wall. It is your fast first pass, not a compliance badge.
Most "free" accessibility scans make you hand over an email first, then hit you with a scary score and an upsell to a widget that never actually fixes your code. We built the opposite.
Why we built it: We do accessibility remediation for a living, and nearly every conversation started the same way, with an owner who had no idea where their site stood. So we took the scanning engine we use internally and opened it to everyone, free and ungated.
The problem: Accessibility stays invisible until it becomes a lawsuit or a lost customer. The WebAIM Million report finds detectable WCAG failures on more than 95 percent of home pages, yet most owners have never checked. And the "free scan" had become a lead trap. We wanted a scan that is free, clear about what is wrong, and honest about what it can and cannot tell you.
How it evolved: We planned to gate it behind a signup like everyone else, and we cut that. We moved from showing a grade to showing the specific issue and how to fix it. And we resisted bolting on an "instant fix" overlay, because it would have undercut the honest message.
One honest note: automated tools catch only around 30 to 40 percent of WCAG issues, so no scanner can certify compliance. Ours is the fast first pass, and it tells you plainly which issues still need a human.
Try it on any URL, no signup: https://www.webability.io/websit...
Would love your feedback, and happy to answer anything about accessibility or WCAG in the comments.
