Web2MCP

Turn any website's APIs into WebMCP tools for your AI agent

Web2MCP is a Chrome extension that records the APIs a website calls as you browse and injects them as native WebMCP tools your in-browser AI agent can discover and call. No keys, no config, no schemas — the tools build themselves. Runs 100% locally.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 WebMCP is a great idea — websites exposing their features to AI agents as callable tools. The catch: it only works if the site adds it, and almost none have. But every site is already making perfectly good API calls in your browser as you use it. So I built Web2MCP: browse a site normally, and it records those API calls, figures out each endpoint's shape, and registers them as native WebMCP tools your in-browser agent can call. No API keys, no config, no schemas to write — the tools build themselves from real traffic. Because calls replay from the page's own context, your existing login just works. Where it's great: your own apps, internal tools, dashboards, and most cookie-authenticated SaaS — especially read/query endpoints. I've been honest on the site about where record-and-replay can't help (some sites use protections specifically designed to prevent it), so you know what to expect going in. A few things I care about: • 100% local — recordings live in your browser, nothing is sent anywhere, no accounts. • Full control — a toolbar badge shows the live tool count, the popup lists every tool, and you can disable injection per site. • It even auto-fills the request details an agent can't guess, using what it recorded. It needs a WebMCP-capable browser (Chrome 149+ with WebMCP enabled). Free and open source. 🔗 Install: https://chromewebstore.google.co... 🌐 Site: https://web2mcp.dev Would love your feedback — especially which sites you'd most want your agent to actually *do things* on. Happy to answer anything!
