Watch Later Synthesizer
Triage your YouTube Watch Later pile inside Obsidian
Not did you watch everything — but what did you miss worth watching? Clip YouTube videos into Obsidian and your "watch later" folder becomes a graveyard. This plugin triages it: a watch-or-skip verdict per video, the recurring themes across your pile, a conservative "safe to delete" list, plus a flag for stale time-sensitive videos. Triage, not summaries. Bring your own AI key. No server, no account, no subscription. Plugin installs free from the Obsidian directory; one-time Pro license.
Maker here. I build small one-time-purchase Obsidian plugins, and this is the seventh in a backlog-triage line.
I don't actually have a giant watch-later pile myself — I found this pain through research. It kept coming up: people treating their saved-video folder as a guilt object, something they'd never get through but couldn't bring themselves to clear. So I wanted a tool that reframes it. Not "did you fail to watch everything," but "what did you miss that was actually worth it."
One thing I'm upfront about: it reads video metadata, not transcripts (YouTube blocks client-side caption fetch), and verdict quality depends on the model you bring via your own key. Small free models are fine for testing but under-skip on real piles.
Happy to answer anything about the architecture — it's fully offline-verified licensing, zero server.
