Hey Hunters 👋, I'm excited to introduce Wandr to the community today! The Inspiration & Problem: As a rider, coordinating group rides is always chaotic. We switch between WhatsApp for chat, Google Maps for navigation, and phone calls when someone misses a turn. I wanted to build a single, rider-first app that handles everything from route planning to live tracking without the bloat. What it does: Wandr is built for motorcyclists and touring groups. Key features include: 📍 Real-Time Group Tracking: See every rider's live location on the map. 🗺️ Motorcycle Route Planner: Build routes with multiple fuel and rest waypoints. 👥 Group Coordination: Chat with text/voice and share photos within the app. ⚡ Battery Optimized: Adaptive GPS usage for full-day rides. The Build Process: I built this entirely using React Native and Expo. It was a massive technical challenge to sync real-time GPS tracking for large groups while simultaneously optimizing battery life and mobile data for weak network areas on long rides. The Ask: I would absolutely love for you to download the Android app and give the group ride features a spin. I'm actively looking for feedback on: The battery consumption during long GPS sessions.
