I built WAAIV because it's getting harder to tell real photos from AI-generated ones, and most people don't have a fast, free way to check — you either trust your gut or dig through forums.
My first version just averaged the output of a few AI-detection APIs. That turned out to be a mistake: when I tested it against a set of real and AI-generated photos with known answers, I found the detectors weren't equally reliable — some were consistently sharper, one had a real blind spot for certain generators, another gave false positives on graphic-design-style images. So I rebuilt the logic to weigh each source by how much it actually deserved to be trusted, instead of treating every "vote" the same.
