I built Vowd because I kept breaking promises to myself. Habit trackers gave me streaks and polite reminders, but nothing was ever actually at risk. Missing a day cost me nothing, so I kept missing days.
Vowd adds the part that was missing: consequences. You make a vow, choose a real stake, and name a witness who confirms whether you kept it. Lose, and the stake happens, your chosen apps get locked for a duration you set, you pay for a friend's meal, you donate to charity, you film the cold shower.
Go solo, challenge a friend, or run it as a group. Results land on a public Vow Wall, wins and losses both.
I'm a solo developer, and the hardest part wasn't the code, it was making the consequence feel fair instead of cruel.
