VoicedByMe

Any text, voiced by you: AI agents, audiobooks, messages

VoicedByMe reads any text aloud in your own cloned voice, made from a 20-second recording, or in one of 35 ready-made voices, from natural narrators to a pirate. It all runs on your computer and nothing is uploaded. AI agents like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can speak replies and ask permission out loud. Read selected text in any app with a shortcut, read text off the screen, turn ebooks into audiobooks or make voice clips for WhatsApp slack or teams.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Ashish, the maker of VoicedByMe. It started with my AI agents. I run Claude Code and Codex for hours, and I kept coming back to the screen only to find they'd been stuck for 20 minutes waiting for my permission. I wanted them to just tell me, out loud, so I could make tea and still keep work moving. Hearing a robotic voice all day got old fast, so I wondered: what if they spoke in my own voice? Then it spread to messages especially recording voice notes. Recording voice notes meant redoing them every time I stumbled, and i stumbled a lot. Now I type what I mean, press one shortcut, and it becomes a voice note in my voice, with no retakes. And once that worked, I wanted everything voiced: articles, PDFs, whole ebooks. So combining all these, I built a reader that runs entirely on your own computer. Record about 20 seconds of yourself reading, and from then on any text you select (in any app) can be read back in your own voice with Ctrl+Alt+R. A few things I'm proud of: 🤖 Give your AI agents a voice. One-click connect for Claude Code, Codex, the Claude app, Cursor and Hermes Agent. They read their replies aloud and tell you when they need permission ("Codex wants to run npm install") or have a question, so you can step away from the screen. Each agent can have its own voice, with quiet hours. MCP and an OpenAI-compatible endpoint for anything else. 💬 Voice clips. Select a WhatsApp or Slack message , press Ctrl+Alt+V, and it turns into a voice clip in your voice, ready to send. 🔒 Fully offline. Your recordings and your text never leave your machine. After a one-time model download, it works without internet. 🖥️ Reads the screen. Ctrl+Alt+O reads text from images, scanned pages, videos, or apps that won't let you copy. 📚 Ebooks to audiobooks, in your voice or one of 35 ready-made voices. 🌍 English, Spanish and German. Pricing: free for 24 hours, then a one-time $30 for the first 50 customers ($50 after). No subscription. I'd love your feedback, especially on voice quality, which agents you'd want connected next, and which languages to add. I'll be here all day answering questions!
