Hey Product Hunt community! π
I'm excited to share VizhiTN (vizhitn.in) β Tamil Nadu's civic proof, citizen reporting, and hyperlocal news platform covering all 38 districts.
### π‘ Why we built this:
Every day across Tamil Nadu, millions of residents face unannounced substation power cuts, contaminated tap water, or dangerous road craters. While people complain in WhatsApp groups, these issues rarely create an empirical, verifiable public record that holds departments accountable.
VizhiTN changes that by transforming citizen photojournalism and government notifications into verified Civic Receipts.
### π What's inside:
1. **Utility Alert Desks:** Daily TANGEDCO power cut schedules & Collectorate rain holiday alerts.
2. **Civic Proof Ledger:** Citizens file photo-documented receipts for broken roads, water leaks, and open drains.
3. **TN Politics & MLA Tracker:** Transparency on legislative questions, assembly debates, and constituency development.
4. **Anonymous Bribe Tracker:** A secure, district-level ledger tracking administrative kickback demands.
5. **RTI Builder:** Draft legally formatted Right to Information applications in under 2 minutes.
We are 100% free, bilingual in English and Tamil, and completely non-partisan.
I'd love to hear your feedback, thoughts on civic tech in India, and ideas on how we can make municipal accountability even faster!
