vista
World news, scored by importance — then it ends.
Vista scores every story for importance, so you read what actually matters in a few minutes — with context, and what HN, Reddit and X are saying about it. No infinite feed. No outrage ranking. Made to be finished.
Hi Product Hunt! Solo maker here.
Let me start with the fair criticism of a product like this, because I'd rather say it than have it said to me: an app that scores news is deciding what matters for you.
Here's my honest answer. Every feed you already read is filtered. By engagement, by an editor, by a model that learned what keeps you scrolling. There is no unfiltered version of the news. The only real questions are what it's filtered for, and whether you're allowed to see the filter.
So Vista tries to make the filter visible instead of invisible. The importance score is printed on the story, not hidden behind ranking. Sources are always shown. On big stories you can see what HN, Reddit and X are actually arguing about — not one verdict handed down.
And here's the part I care about most. Every day Vista asks you one question, plus Today's Five Questions on the day's stories — and it expects you to answer them yourself, in your own words. Not a summary you nod along to.
Then it tracks how you think, not whether you're right. The five questions each pull a different move: spot the trend, find connections, echoes of history, one step forward. If your answers keep reaching for the same one, the app notices the angles you're skipping and steers the next questions there. Reading the news should leave you better at reasoning about it, not just more updated.
Because a tool that hands you conclusions makes you a worse reader over time. That's the failure mode I'm most afraid of building.
Vista sorts the pile. The thinking stays yours.
If that's the reading habit you want, the first month of Premium is free this launch month — code VISTAPH (limited):

Redeem in the App Store, or tap your avatar → Redeem Gift Card or Code.
I'd genuinely like to hear where the scoring feels wrong to you. That's the part I most want to get right.

Who hunted vista?
vista was hunted by 付瑞东. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
