Vigil - Real-time system monitoring
Real-time system monitoring, finally beautiful.
Vigil is a lightweight, real-time monitoring dashboard for your servers. Live metrics built for at-a-glance clarity and streamed over WebSocket, gauges, charts, service probes - all in one polished UI that drops in front of Vigil Collector.
Hey Product Hunt!
Vigil is a real-time system monitoring dashboard for people who read htop. I built it because every "lightweight" monitor I tried was either:
- a SaaS that wanted my email and a credit card before it would show me a CPU graph, or
- a self-hosted thing that needed Docker, a TSDB, a huge config file, and more RAM than necessary to watch a 1 GB box.
Vigil is a single ~12 MB Python binary on the host, plus a static frontend you can drop on any web host: GitHub Pages, S3, nginx, anything you want. The whole UI is ~140 KB gzipped. No login wall, no telemetry, no cloud account.
It's free. Clone it, run it, fork it. If you'd rather skip the setup, there's a $99 one-time Full-Supported Install at the bottom of the page which includes TLS, systemd, andyour service probes wired up. A Pro build (multi-host hub + alerting via Slack/email/webhooks + 30 d retention) is in active development.
Stars, issues and PRs are all welcome. Thanks for taking a look! :)
