viewio
Smooth, fully free and open source screen recorder.
viewio captures your screen in up to 4K60, then lets you restyle everything after- cursor, zoom, background, and music.
Why I was using Screen Studio, but paying again and again just to export my recordings felt unreasonable to me. I'm used to free, offline software. I understand paying for cloud services in an app, but not for an app that can work entirely offline.
Comparison I tried many alternatives, but none of them were up to the mark. Some were browser extensions(cursorful.com) that ran poorly, partly because of my average (16 GB) system. Others were Electron/JS wrappers with the same performance issues (webadderallorg/Recordly). So I built viewio from scratch. The app works fully offline, requires no login or subscription, is free even for commercial use, and is fully open source under the MIT license.
