Hey Product Hunt Community 👋, Prospector simplifies contact research and automates sales outreach to help you identify and uncover new business opportunities. It’s the product I wish I had when we built Vidyard and it’s available today, for everyone. When we launched Vidyard, our most important activity was to talk with potential customers and translate those conversations into sales. But in the early days, we faced the classic startup challenge: nobody knew who we were. Every founder conquers this challenge in their own way, but most strategies come down to brute force. Our version of this was building a web crawler tasked to find businesses that had websites with videos embedded on the homepage. We ranked these businesses and manually uncovered contact details for each of them. Then every morning, I’d wake up, write, and send 100 personalized emails out to our list. This was a special but difficult time in my life. Slowly but surely, we began to receive responses. Was my outreach flawless? Far from it. I barely understood how to sell to other businesses. But I repeatedly found inspiration from individuals with whom my messaging struck a chord (one of whom became our first customer and later, my wife :)). This personalized outreach was our best early channel for growing Vidyard. From there, we learned the nuances of messaging, demand gen, and inbound marketing. Personalized outreach laid the foundation for everything we do, but implementing it is still a huge challenge for many founders and sellers today. We want to make it easier - which is why we’re excited to launch Vidyard Prospector today.
