Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Aman, solo founder of VidBook.
I built VidBook in 7 days for the OpenAI × Outskill AI Builders Hackathon 2026, and we won as one of 5 winners out of 1,000 builders. Today I'm bringing it to Product Hunt.
The problem:
Long-form creators on YouTube sit on goldmines they can't publish. A 60-90 minute educational video has enough material to fill a 30,000-word book. But manual ghostwriting costs $2,000-$5,000 and takes 4-8 weeks. Generic AI tools hallucinate and produce prose Amazon reviewers flag as AI within the first paragraph.
Meanwhile, six million Kindle Unlimited readers are starving for high-quality educational non-fiction. The bridge between those two audiences barely exists.
VidBook is that bridge.
How it works:
1. Paste any long-form YouTube URL
2. Pick Normal mode (Gemini 2.5 Pro, free) or Pro mode (OpenAI gpt-4o-mini, paid plans)
3. A multi-agent pipeline grounded in the transcript writes outline → chapters → continuity passes → humanizer
4. Live PageFlip preview in the browser
5. Export to KDP-ready PDF (6×9, mirrored margins), EPUB, and DOCX
A 7-chapter book finishes in about 6 minutes for $0.02 of compute. Same workflow that used to take 4-8 weeks and $2,000+.
What makes it different from "another AI book generator":
· Grounded - every fact ties back to a transcript chunk. Zero hallucination.
· Humanized - 30+ pattern rule set based on Wikipedia's "Signs of AI writing" strips em dashes, copula avoidance, persuasive tropes, rule-of-three forcing.
· No timeout - multi-agent pipeline runs on Trigger.dev so book length is unlimited (not bound by Vercel's 300s function cap).
