Built this because every other username generator either spits out "CoolUser12345" or asks you to pay for "premium aesthetic packs."
vibehandles lets you pick from 15 actual aesthetic categories — coquette, dark academia, mob wife, celestial, y2k, eight more — and generates 36 usernames per platform, each already validated against that platform's rules (Instagram's 30-char limit, TikTok's underscore restrictions, etc.).
The fun part: live availability checks on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitch. Tap any handle, see in real time if it's free. No need to copy-paste into five sign-up pages.
Three things that make it different:
1. **Real aesthetic curation**, not just adjective+noun random combos. Each vibe has a hand-built word bank of 30-100 terms that actually fit the look.
2. **Platform-specific generation**. The username pool for TikTok is different from Discord because the rules are different.
3. **Free, no signup, no ads**. I'm experimenting with affiliate links to domain registrars on the "buy a matching domain" CTA, but the tool itself is fully open.
Built with Next.js 16 + Supabase + Cloudflare Workers AI (for the hero images). Solo project feedback very welcome, and I'm hanging out in comments today.
