VeriRedact

Redact PDFs locally, verify the redaction actually worked

Redact PII from PDFs and scanned images entirely on your device: no upload, no server, no account. Works offline (can turn Wi-Fi off). Detection combines regex/checksum validators with an optional local AI model, OCR reads scans and photos, and every export is independently re-verified four ways with a hash-based certificate before it exports.

Hi lovely ProductHunt people! I built this after apartment hunting and getting tired of sending my SSN, bank statements, and tax returns to landlords buried in documents I couldn't cleanly redact. I couldn't trust existing tools, and the ones that looked trustworthy cost a lot of money. I wanted to change this with VeriRedact, everything runs on-device, and every export gets re-opened and checked before you can download it. If it fails, you get nothing. I also added some PDF bundling features to make PDF submissions to sites faster and easier. Curious what you think: would you actually trust a local verification check over a big-name cloud tool, or does "on-device" not matter much to you if the UI is good enough? Also happy to talk through how the checksum validators work if anyone's curious. Do you think this tool is useful, and will it benefit you in some specific way?
