Hi Product Hunt, I'm Lance Butcher, founder of VelvetGeaux.
We build small businesses in the US and the Dominican Republic a platform they own: a site, orders and bookings, WhatsApp contact and a customer list. The point is that they aren't renting their whole business from an Instagram or Facebook feed.
The Shop Agent is the newest piece. It covers the full small-shop loop in one place:
- Chat: customers ask in English or Spanish. A language model reads the question, and the answer comes only from the live catalog (prices, sizes, stock).
- Order: it builds the cart, asks for size, name and phone, and shows a summary before anything is placed.
- Loyalty: the phone number is the loyalty ID. 1 point per $1, and 100 points = $5 off, applied only when the customer asks.
- Owner control: a portal lists orders, customers and points. Plain commands like "mark the denim jacket out of stock" update the catalog after a one-tap confirm.
Guardrails: prompts stay on the server, replies are filtered for leaks, attempts to pull out instructions are refused, and the endpoint is rate-limited per session and per IP.
To be upfront, this is an MVP. The intent parsing, catalog answers, cart and order records, loyalty balances, owner commands and storage are real. The demo shop, its products and customers, payment and shipping are mocked. The WhatsApp step opens a prefilled message that you send yourself.
Try it as a customer in the demo (https://agent.velvetgeaux.com/demo). Ask about a size, place an order, use points. The owner portal needs a demo login, so comment if you want one.
VelvetGeaux is built with the Anthropic (Claude) and Replit startup programs. You can see a live client build at Sophia Hair Co (https://sophiahairco.com).
I'd especially like feedback from anyone who runs a shop. What would you need before you trusted something like this with real orders?
