I’m excited to launch Veloca, an open-source, desktop-first Markdown editor built for people who write, organize, and manage Markdown files every day.
Veloca is inspired by Typora, but goes further for local knowledge management and engineering-style writing workflows. It supports rendered/source view switching, local folder and SQLite workspaces, multi-tab editing, split view, autosave, rich embeds, Mermaid, code blocks, math formulas, local asset saving, and early AI writing assistance.
I built Veloca because I wanted a Markdown editor that feels close to the final output, but also works well for long-term docs, technical notes, project knowledge bases, and local-first workflows.
