Value View
Track super-investor portfolios and run real DCF models
Value View - Professional investment tools, DCF calculators, and super investor tracking for the modern retail investor.
Top comment
I built ValueView because I kept hitting the same wall as a retail investor: pro-grade research tools are priced for institutions, and the free ones give you ratios and a one line summary you could've Googled. I wanted to actually value a company, pull 30 years of fundamentals, run a real DCF, and see what the people who do this professionally are buying, without needing an institutional subscription. The first version was honestly just me copy-pasting 13F filings into a spreadsheet to track what Buffett, Pabrai, Ackman, and others were holding. That became the Super Investors feature. The DCF builder came next, and the biggest insight while building it was that most retail tools cheat: one fixed model, one number, take it or leave it. ValueView lets you actually move the assumptions and watch the valuation respond, which is what serious analysis looks like. What evolved most: I stopped trying to make it beginner-friendly. People who want a DCF know what a DCF is. So I leaned into faster inputs and easier cross-company comparison instead of hand-holding. Genuinely curious what you all think, especially if you've tried free or mid-tier tools and hit the same gaps. Happy to answer anything about how it works under the hood.
