Untangle
Capture messy thoughts by voice. AI organizes them.
Untangle is a voice-first iPhone app for capturing thoughts before they disappear. Speak naturally, let AI organize the transcript into a clear note, then decide whether it becomes an idea, task, note, or something for later. Unlike AI tools that decide for you, Untangle keeps meaning and next steps in your hands. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets make capture one tap away.
I built Untangle because I kept losing thoughts at the worst moments — while walking, before falling asleep, or when opening a notes app felt like too much friction.
Untangle lets you speak naturally without organizing your thoughts first. It transcribes your voice, uses AI to turn the transcript into a clearer note, and then lets you decide what it becomes: an idea, task, note, or something for later.
A few things I cared about while building it:
capture should be fast — Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets can start recording in one tap
AI should organize, not decide what your thought means
failed processing should never make you lose the original thought
I built Untangle as a solo developer, and it’s now live on the App Store.
I’d love feedback on the capture flow — does it feel fast enough that you’d actually use it in the moment?
