I’ve been building a new site/app called Unridden, which turns riding different trails and trail systems into a game. Rather than focusing on speed or leaderboards, Unridden is about exploration: seeing how many trails you can ride, completing an entire area, earning achievements, and discovering places you might otherwise overlook. We’re working with bike brands, shops, and local businesses to offer prizes, discounts, coupons, and other rewards. We already have a few partnerships in the works. The site is still new, and we don’t have every trail or area mapped yet. That’s where everyone can help: 1. Try it out. Connect your ride data, explore the available areas, and give us feedback. 2. Become a local ambassador. We’re looking for riders who know and love their local trail systems and can help make sure the legal trails are included, mapped correctly, and accurately rated. It's a volunteer role, but we plan to provide ambassador-specific swag, such as a riding shirt or jersey (I'm testing out different designs now). 3. Partner with us. If you represent a bike brand, shop, local business, or other organization interested in providing rewards or collaborating, I’d love to hear from you. Our trail data is initially sourced from OpenStreetMap, with personal ride GPX tracks helping find missing trails, mapping issues, and other gaps. Because public map data isn’t always complete or perfectly organized, local ambassadors are especially valuable in helping build accurate areas. I originally built Unridden to give myself a fun goal: ride every trail around Bend in a season. I also wanted an alternative to platforms where the emphasis is mostly on being the fastest. Unridden is meant to be inclusive and focused on the adventure, variety, and joy of exploring more places. Achievements and rewards can take many forms—not only completing an entire area, but riding a certain number of trails, visiting a particular group of trails, or completing unusual challenges. For example, a local pub might offer a free pint after you ride a set of nearby trails, or there could be an achievement for being the final person to ride a trail before winter. We already have some products lined up to give out as rewards, but area looking for more. Unridden currently supports ride imports from Strava and Wahoo. Garmin support is planned when access to its developer program becomes available again, with Suunto and other platforms also coming. Check it out at Unridden.app, and let me know what you think!
