The hotel price check that flags deals it can't verify

Checks ~12 booking sites for the hotel you're viewing, taxes and fees included. When the cheapest listing can't be verified as the same room, Underbook flags it instead of flashing fake savings. Watch any stay for a price drop. Free, no account, no tracking.

We got burned booking a Maui trip. The exact same room was listed at wildly different prices across booking sites, and every deal tool we tried flashed savings it couldn't back up. So we built the opposite, then measured whether hotel deals are even real. We ran our verdict engine over the same 24-hotel basket twice, two months apart. The result killed our original pitch. When a room can be matched by name across mainstream sites, the price is almost always the same. A confirmed same-room saving showed up once in 36 resolved checks, about 3 percent. The cheapest listing is usually a wholesaler running 10 to 40 percent under everyone else, and about 86 percent of those listings can't be verified as the same room and terms. So Underbook doesn't promise savings. It checks about 12 booking sites for the hotel you're viewing, shows all-in totals with taxes and fees, and when the cheap listing can't be confirmed it says so right on the page: room not confirmed, verify before booking. If you already have the best rate, it tells you that too, and offers to watch the price and email you if it drops before your stay. Free, no account, no tracking. Some links can earn us a commission, disclosed on the page. It never changes the ranking, and the cheapest listing is usually a wholesaler that earns us nothing. We're small, 14 users as of this week. What we want from you is brutal feedback on trust. What would make you believe a price comparison tool, and what would make you uninstall one?

Who hunted Underbook?

Underbook was hunted by Underbook. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
