UluP Desktop
Your files, as a visual map — with free local AI built in
Files and folders as nodes on a canvas, not a tree view. Positions remembered forever, real image previews instead of generic icons, and connections between files without an obvious hierarchy. The standout part: it runs a local MCP server Claude Code can connect to. Control everything through conversation — free if you already have a Claude subscription, since it uses your existing quota, not separate API billing. Export any folder into UluP Spaces as a shareable cloud project. Built solo.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Solo dev here. Built UluP Desktop over the past week as a companion to UluP Spaces (my main project, launched here a month ago) — same "canvas instead of a list" idea, applied to your actual file system this time.
The part I'm most excited about: it connects to Claude Code through a local MCP server, so you can literally talk to your file system — "organize this folder," "connect these two files" — and watch it happen live. Since it's a local server (not hosted), there's no extra API cost if you already have a Claude subscription.
Free download is live now. Microsoft Store submission is in review.
Genuinely curious what you all think of "files as a spatial map" as a concept — happy to answer anything about the build, the MCP integration, or the Electron/auto-update setup.
