Typing tests with RPG-style tiers
Turn your WPM into a hero class
Most typing tests give you a single WPM number and nothing else. Ascendancy scores WPM, accuracy, and consistency together and sorts each run into one of 10 hero classification tiers — so your typing has a progression system, not just a score. There's also a global leaderboard to compare runs. Built solo, free to use, no signup required to try it. I built this because I wanted a typing test that felt like something to level up in, not just a number to stare at.
Hey everyone! I built Ascendancy because I kept using typing tests that would just show me a WPM number and I'd close the tab five seconds later; nothing to work toward, nothing that felt like progress.
I wanted something closer to a game: score consistency alongside speed and accuracy, and turn the combination into an actual classification you can climb through, like a character build. There's a leaderboard too if you want to compare against others.
This was a solo build, and honestly still evolving — I'd love feedback on whether the tier thresholds feel fair, whether the classification system actually motivates you to improve, or if it just feels gimmicky. Try it and let me know what you think!
