**What is Typer?**
Once you start Typer, it detects your Mac’s specs and downloads the most optimal AI model for your machine. And that’s it. No config and no account. Typer is ready to chat.
Downloading and running Typer is completely free. You can run it anytime and anyplace.
**What is Hyper Typer?**
For those who want Typer to be able to make unlimited searches on the web, it’s possible to upgrade to Hyper Typer. It makes Typer able to check the web for answers and incorporate them right into your chat. Hyper Typer is available as a one-time purchase or a subscription on the App Store. It is possible to make a limited number of searches for free.
**A few things:**
- Typer only runs on Apple Silicon Macs, the more recent chip and the more RAM, the better the experience
- Local AI models are improving and do not have the processing power of the ones online
- Typer will update to better models automatically as they're released, so what you get today will keep getting better
