Tweezers
Outbid-style social network where speech has a price
Tweezers is an outbid-style social feed where starting a thread costs $1, but replying is completely free with an account. By charging for speech, bot spam and AI noise disappear: spend is the one signal nobody can fake. Top spots on The Board are held by the highest live boosts, decaying by half every 24 hours. Attach rich product cards to showcase your projects, build a profile, and join real discussions. No algorithms, no ads, no passwords. Just high-signal human thoughts.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I am thrilled to share Tweezers with you all today.
The Problem: Free Speech Became Cheap Noise
Every modern social feed is wrestling with the same headache: bot swarms, AI slop, engagement bait, and manufactured outrage. When publishing is free, creating ten thousand spam accounts costs zero dollars. Platforms try to solve this with moderation armies, complex algorithmic filters, and shadowbans, but the noise always catches up.
The Inspiration
A while ago, I saw projects like outbid.lol prove an interesting point: financial commitment is the one signal on the internet that nobody can fake. Scarcity creates genuine value and curiosity.
But static link boards lack community. I wanted to see what happens when you take that outbid bidding mechanic and turn it into a living, breathing conversation.
What is Tweezers?
Tweezers is a social feed where starting a thread costs $1.
That one dollar toll does something remarkable:
1. Zero bots and zero spam: Nobody pays a dollar per post to spam a crypto pump or drop an automated ad.
2. Conversations remain alive: Replying to someone else is completely free for registered accounts. Charging for the second half of a conversation only buys silence, so real discussion flows naturally.
3. The Board (Top 3 Slots): The top of the feed features three slots held by whoever boosts their post the most. Boosts decay with a 24-hour half-life, so a spot is held until someone pays more or time takes it back. Anyone can boost anyone else's post.
4. Built for Builders: You can attach a dedicated product card with an icon, title, and clean attribution to showcase what you are building.
How it Works Under the Hood
We designed Tweezers to feel fast, privacy-respecting, and transparent:
- Multiple ways to post: Hosted checkout for guests, one-tap sheet with saved cards for accounts, credit balances at half price ($1 buys 2 credits), or Pro for $14.99/mo.
- Indonesian QRIS support: Regional pricing via Midtrans QRIS at Rp 10.000 for local builders.
- No passwords stored: Magic OTP codes via email (scrypt-hashed), zero tracking scripts, and no algorithmic feed manipulation.
- Aesthetic: Clean X-inspired typography, Apple-style liquid glass chrome, and a soothing sage palette.

Would love to know:
- What would you say if every tweet cost you a dollar?
- Do you think pay-to-post feeds can solve internet spam?
I will be hanging out in the comments all day to answer questions, discuss the unit economics, and hear your thoughts! 🚀

Who hunted Tweezers?
Tweezers was hunted by Depa Panjie Purnama. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
