Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m Shoji, the developer of TurtleWiz PackCheck. I built this app because I noticed a simple limitation with ordinary checklists: Checking a box doesn’t prove that the item is actually there. You might see “Water bottle” on your list, remember putting it somewhere, and check it off — only to discover later that it was still sitting on the table. So I wanted to change the process. With TurtleWiz PackCheck, you don’t just check the words on a list. You show the actual item to the iPhone camera. The basic flow is: Make a list Show the items you’re actually taking Confirm what is physically there Lists can be created from: • photos of several objects • printed school notices or packing guides • saved photos • entered or pasted text For checking, you can either show items one at a time or lay several items out and check them together in one photo. I originally thought of this as a general forgotten-item problem. But I also wanted it to be useful for people who find preparation and remembering multiple belongings especially difficult, including some people with ADHD. It isn’t an ADHD-specific or medical app. Forgetting things happens to everyone. One design decision that mattered to me was privacy. Item image recognition and AI processing are performed on the iPhone rather than sending item images to an external AI recognition service. The app is free to download. You can keep one list at a time for free, delete and remake it as often as you like, and use the camera checking feature without a usage limit. Multiple saved lists are available through a one-time purchase. I’d really love feedback from the Product Hunt community — especially on whether “show the actual item” feels more useful than a traditional checklist. Thanks for taking a look!
