Turn Off AI

A quiet space to write authentic thoughts with no AI input

Step into a quiet room with one thought and nowhere else to be. No autocomplete, suggestions, pasting, or noise—just a page, full screen, a cursor, and time to see where your thinking leads. Stay until you’re finished. Then take your words with you.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built this because I noticed something uncomfortable: I'd started reaching for a model before I knew what I thought. Not to write things for me — just to get unstuck. And the unstuck version was always slightly not mine. Turn Off AI is a writing room with almost nothing in it. You name a thought you want to work out, pick a length, and go in. Inside there's a page and your cursor. No autocomplete, no spellcheck squiggles, no toolbar, no word count in the corner, no chat box. Pasting is blocked while you're inside. When you're done, you finish deliberately, and your words are released — copy them, download them, or keep them in a library only you can read. What it is not: an AI detector. It cannot tell how you wrote anything and never claims to. Blocking paste is a door you close because you want the quiet, not a proof you can show anyone. Another tab exists. Your memory exists. That's fine — the constraint is for you, not for an examiner. A few decisions people usually ask about: - No timer on screen. Move your mouse to the bottom edge and it appears for three seconds. Reaching your goal shows one quiet line and nothing else happens; the room doesn't end, congratulate you, or lock. - Copying is blocked during the session too, not just pasting. Taking words out mid-thought turned out to be its own kind of leaving. - No streaks, no scores, no gamification. Nothing is measured except the two numbers you asked for. — Your writing is never training data, never touches analytics, and is readable only by you enforced in the database, not just in the app. — No account needed to try it, and there are no passwords at all.
