Hey everyone 👋 I'm Jordan, the maker of TryTechSafe. The idea came from watching beginners learn computers and smartphones. What holds them back usually isn't the technology. It's fear: "What if I click the wrong thing? What if I delete something, or get scammed?" So they don't practice, and without practice they never get comfortable. The first version was a set of practice simulators I built for beginner computer classes: a fake desktop and a fake phone where students could try things safely. They worked so well that I turned them into a standalone product: 📱 SafePhone, a practice smartphone 💻 SafePC, a practice computer Both run right in the browser. There's nothing to install, every lesson is guided step by step, and nothing you do can break anything or put your real device at risk. The approach changed a lot along the way. I started with a "realistic sandbox" and quickly learned that realism isn't enough: beginners need one clear step at a time, large readable text, and a safe space to repeat things until they stick. I also made the first lesson free with no account needed, because asking someone who is nervous about tech to sign up first defeats the purpose. If you have a parent or grandparent who keeps calling you for tech help, I'd love for you to try a lesson with them and tell me what's confusing. Every piece of feedback goes straight into the next lessons. 🙏 trytechsafe.com
