TruReel

Real videos. Real opinions

Social media rewards views and likes, but often hides how audiences truly feel. TruReel changes that by allowing both likes and dislikes, creating a balanced feedback system for every short video. Our TruScore helps creators understand real audience sentiment instead of chasing vanity metrics. This is an early prototype, and we're building it with community feedback.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Gurwinder, an Android developer from India. After spending years on social media, I noticed that creators often receive only one side of the story. Likes are visible, but there's no straightforward way for audiences to express that they didn't enjoy a video. That can make it harder for creators to understand how their content is actually landing. So I started building **TruReel**. Instead of focusing only on likes and follower counts, TruReel lets viewers react with both likes and dislikes, and combines those signals into a **TruScore** to give creators a clearer picture of audience sentiment. This is still an early prototype, and I'm sharing it because I want honest feedback from people who love trying new products. I'd really appreciate hearing: * Would you use a platform with both like and dislike reactions? * What would make you switch from existing short-video apps? * Which features should I build next? Thanks for checking out TruReel, and thank you for your feedback!

Who hunted TruReel?

TruReel was hunted by gurwinder singh. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
